Team Hippo’s Tom Preston tackled the 2022 Legend Fires North West Stages with a roaring – and very eventful – ending!
The third outing for the team’s Ford Fiesta R5 – Mark II ended in an unexpected halt as the car crashed into a wall on a tight turn. Press play below to see the moment caught on camera…
Commenting on the drive, Tom said: “We were lying 6th overall with five stages to go and were on a big push to see if we could get further up the leaderboard, unfortunately we went too fast into a tight right hand and the wall got the better of us!”
The rally returned to its Myerscough College headquarters, with an iconic, ceremonial start in Garstang High Street.
“A big thank you to Carl Williamson and CA1 sport for doing a great job of running the car,” Tom added.
“Well done to all those that finished and, of course, the organisers and sponsors. It was really a mega event.”
