Online Vehicle Purchasing Specialist

As an Online Vehicle Purchasing Specialist within the Hippo Car Sell department, your primary responsibility will be to engage with warm leads generated through online inquiries. These leads will have already expressed interest in selling their vehicles to Hippo Car Sell. Your role entails establishing and nurturing relationships with customers/sellers, conducting appraisals of their vehicles, providing accurate valuations, and managing their expectations throughout the sales process. Additionally, you will serve as a brand ambassador, highlighting the advantages of choosing Hippo Car Sell for selling their vehicles. Upon securing a sale, you will facilitate the collection process by coordinating necessary documentation and scheduling collection dates.

  • Proactively engage with warm leads via phone calls to facilitate the vehicle selling process.
  • Build rapport and trust with customers/sellers to ensure a positive experience.
  • Conduct thorough appraisals of vehicles based on provided information and, when necessary, arrange for in-person inspections.
  • Provide accurate and competitive valuations reflective of market conditions and vehicle condition.
  • Effectively communicate the benefits of choosing Hippo Car Sell to potential sellers, addressing any concerns or queries they may have.
  • Negotiate and finalise sales agreements, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Collect all necessary documentation from sellers, verifying its accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with logistics and administrative teams to schedule collection dates and ensure a smooth handover process.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and transactions within the company’s CRM system.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to optimize sales strategies and contribute to the overall success of the department.
  • Previous experience in sales, particularly within the automotive industry, is advantageous but not essential.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities, coupled with a customer-centric approach.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately assess vehicle condition and value.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven, with a passion for exceeding sales goals.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required for certain aspects of the role.
