Apprentice Technician

Are you looking for an opportunity to launch your career in the automotive industry? Look no further than Hippo Motor Group! As an Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing motor vehicles to the high standards upheld by our dealership. You’ll have the chance to work in our state-of-the-art workshop, where you’ll learn from experienced senior technicians and gain hands-on experience with a variety of vehicles, from small city cars to performance cars.

At Hippo, we’re committed to investing in your professional development. You’ll work alongside our dedicated training tutor and college to complete a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance at their IMI Approved Centre. During your apprenticeship, you’ll receive both classroom and workshop-based learning, including off-the-job training at the IMI Approved Centre. You’ll also have the support of a dedicated mentor to oversee your work-based learning programme.

Your apprenticeship will take place over a 3-year period and will compromise of classroom and workshop-based learning, this includes off-the-job training at the IMI Approved Centre. You will also receive the support from a mentor who will oversee the work-based learning programme.

Apprentice Technicians will work 8:30am till 5:00pm and have 3 block days a month where they will train off-site with college.

  • Assist Senior Technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
  • Conduct basic maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, tyre changes, and brake inspections.
  • Complete basic servicing, health checks and MOT prep.
  • Learn and follow dealership safety policies and procedures.
  • Keep the shop area clean and organised.
  • Communicate with all other departments to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Diagnosing faults with dealership equipment and technology to perform repairs.
