Workshop Controller

Hippo Motor Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Controller to join our busy workshop. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring maximum productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively motivate, coach, and develop their team while maintaining high operational standards and achieving set targets.

  • Assist management in implementing and maintaining effective processes to achieve the highest possible customer satisfaction levels.
  • Distribute and control the issuance of work to technicians, ensuring quality and efficiency are maximized across the workshop.
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the workshop team to ensure they meet daily performance objectives and exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensure the team fulfils their bonus commitments by monitoring performance and providing support where needed to meet targets.
  • Take ownership of personal targets and objectives, contributing to the overall success of the workshop.
  • Oversee the accurate completion of all relevant documentation for each repair, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is always maintained, in line with the company’s standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in a workshop environment, ideally within the motor industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of motivating and developing teams
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and distribute workloads efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with team members and customers.
