Head of Marketing

Hippo Motor Group have an exciting new vacancy for an experienced Head of Marketing to lead our expanding marketing team. This is a great opportunity for a passionate leader to help shape and accelerate the direction and success of one of the fastest-growing companies in the automotive sector.

Responsible for all elements of the marketing spectrum, our new marketing leader will drive the sustainable growth of our business through a combination of data-led, customer-centric strategies and high-quality execution.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding and demonstrable experience in brand, ATL advertising, digital/performance marketing, CRM/direct marketing, and customer experience. With a young and growing team to lead, they will also excel at motivating and coaching to get the best from a diverse range of talented individuals.

Our Head of Marketing will be responsible for a £multi-million budget and will thrive in a fast-moving, target-driven environment. As an FCA-regulated business, the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how to successfully combine commercial and compliance objectives.

Key Capabilities and Experience

  1. Leadership and Vision

Lead and manage the marketing team, spanning all marketing disciplines to build and execute growth strategies

  1. Brand Strategy; multi-brand development and adoption

Build Hippo’s brand and marketing strategy to enable sustainable and profitable business growth. Shape the direction of the business and help drive success within other functions.

  1. Above the line; Brand Awareness and Traffic

Develop and execute above the line activity to drive brand fame, feeling and fluency. Through amplified campaign communications compel people to visit Hippo website/s during their car search cycle

  1. Digital Marketing; Paid and Organic channels, including PPC, Social, SEO, CRO, affiliates

Build a strategy and lead a team to acquire new customers via paid and organic search. Experience of channel mix and funnel optimisation to deliver market leading CPA. Advocate of optimisation through structured test and learn.

  1. CRM/Direct Marketing; automated, campaign, acquisition and lifecycle

Develop and execute a CRM strategy to engage, acquire and retain customers through intelligent, timely and personalised online and offline communication.

  1. UX and Conversion; e2e conversion, NPS

Ensure a market-leading digital-centric customer experience that focuses on continuous improvement of conversion and satisfaction (NPS/Trust Pilot)

 7. Content Strategy

Management and evolution of a content strategy to increase engagement with potential and existing customers across multiple platforms and channels

8. Social Media; strategy and management

Management and evolution of a social media strategy that drives brand engagement and lead conversion across multiple platforms that reflect customer trends and behaviours.

9. Data and Insight; Analytics, customer research

Data-led decision making through quant and qual methodologies. Champion of data integrity and development of data analytics and decision-making capability

10. Proposition Development; digital, customer and service

Voice of the customer and owner of e2e customer journeys to continuously improve performance and customer satisfaction. Assist in the development and execution of customer propositions, ensuring they are based on customer needs and provide great customer outcomes

11. Digital and Martech; websites, software

Own the Digital and Martech roadmap, including website management, capability and performance, marketing communication platforms and data analytics

12. Agency Management

Effectively source, select and manage marketing agency relationships to drive business performance, ensuring value for money is always achieved.

Proven track record of delivering high quality output in a scaling early-stage business or innovative business unit. Sweats the small stuff – strong attention to detail.

  1. Transformative / Energy

An independent self-starter who positively challenges the status quo and thrives on ownership. Perpetually looks for ways to drive business performance and customer satisfaction through improvements to process, experience, and proposition

  1. Commercial and pragmatic

Commercially minded with a focus on reducing CPA and increasing LTV. Able to both think strategically and get hands-on. Target-oriented
